In the majority of cases, a brown vaginal discharge is nothing to worry about. Brown period blood or brown spotting before period bleeding occurs because a small amount of fluid is leaked from the follicles of the ovary sometime during the cycle. Brown discharge for a few days after menstruation is most likely old blood making its exit. It sounds like your period may arrive soon. Wait another week. If it does not arrive, you can test again.
