Both my mother and I have this condition. I have cleared it completely without any use of creams, serums or chemicals. Being from Japan, I have access to many things people in America generally don't see. But thanks to the internet what I use is easily obtained and very cheap! What is it? It's a wash cloth. But not just any typical washcloth. It's made from a special nylon material and won an award for it's invention. Not only does it help eradicate KP, it also makes the rest of your body baby soft, removing dead skin that exfoliates and other exfoliating type cloths and items leave behind. Just don't use it on your face!!!! (I can not stress this enough!) It is called Salux Beauty Skin Cloth.
Now, some sites will charge silly amounts for this cloth, I have seen crazy prices like 20USD. But at amazon, you can find these as cheap as 2.45. Use it every day in the shower, and you'll notice with continued use that your KP will begin to clear up, and the ingrown hairs that result from KP will be a thing of the past. I then also wax the fine hairs on my upper arms to slow down the KP if there is any day I forget to use my Salux cloth and use my sea sponge instead.. lol.
Notes about the cloth.
1. With proper care one can last 10+ years.
2. Will never grow bacteria (after use, shake out cloth (snapping) roughly to remove water) dries almost instantly.
3. Much longer than Western wash cloths, making whole body washing very easy.
4. Makes body wash and soap last longer.. very little creates a large amount of lather (do not expose cloth to a lot of water once lathered), never use on skin without soap or body wash in the cloth.
5. Rinses clean VERY quickly.
6. You will LOVE this cloth!
7. Hand wash this cloth, do not put in washing machine or dryer!
8. Try to remove shedding hair from your head before using, or wear shower cap while using the cloth. Hair is very difficult to remove from the fibers of the cloth. I really recommend to do this. ^__^
