I watched the PBS show on the D32 mutated gene. If you inherited the gene from both your mother and father you were immune from the pneumonic plaque. If you inherited the gene from just one of your parents, you got very sick and showed some of the symptoms of the pneumonic plaque and usually pulled through. This highest number of people that carried the D32 gene were of nordic descent/northern european (11-12%). The D32 mutated gene also protects one from from HIV/AIDS. Amazing!
