I have a strong family history of breast cancer in my family. I had breast cancer, which was cured because of early detection...My daughter was just diagnosed with pre-cancer and that was detected early enough to remove the two areas and now shes fine and healthy. The pathology was benign.!! BTW I was 54 when diagnosed and she is 39....
My feeling is that people shouldn't panic when they have a family history of breast cancer they should just be diligent and have routine mammo's.Of course if there is a sign that something is awry then, of couse get medical attention. When you say "young girls", what age are you referring to?
The words breast cancer causes a fear that grips you inside and it's almost impossible to shake off. It takes a lot of strength and support to deal with it. If a young girl gets tested for it I feel that it would put that fear in her that is too much to deal with for a young girl.....
