Pfizer Sued for Breast Cancer Link to Menopause Meds... Again

It's not the first time it's happened, but this latest lawsuit against Pfizer's menopause drugs, Provera, Premarin and Prempro, delivered a stinging blow to the pharmaceutical giant. The damages were punitive -- only $1.5 million awarded to Merle Simon after the company's hormone replacement drugs used to treat her hot flashes and night sweats were found to cause breast cancer. In the recent past, they've been known to shell out sums greater than $70 million for similar cases.

Eating Disorders and Amenorrhea

It is estimated that a whopping 10 million women in the US suffer from eating disorders and one in five fall victim to eating disordered thinking. Eating disorders result from a myriad of different causes and are very difficult to treat. It is common for women to swing back and forth between various disorders, or even engage in more than one type of behavior at once (binge eating, restricting food, compulsive overeating, purging, excessive exercising, etc.).

Why is My Period Late?

Recently, my period was a whopping 10 days late. After being completely regular for 12 years (I even resumed my normal cycle just two months after going off hormonal contraceptives), my period randomly decided to boycott my predictably punctual monthly schedule.
