ask: Afraid and paranoid of being pregnant

By Anonymous

I am 18 and my periods had just gotten normal, usually starting on the 9th or 11th and usually lasting for about 6 to 7 days. My last period was on the 11th of March, and I had unprotected sex on March 22, and 24. Then again on April 2. My boyfriend who is completely loyal, and we are both each other's firsts explained to me he DID NOT ejaculate, and claimed there no was no pre-ejaculatory fluid as well.

Well, it is April 12th, and I still have not gotten my period. I am so afraid and paranoid that I rarely eat right, wake up early dawn because of the stress and worry, and currently keep having light cramps that make me feel like I would get my period but when going to the restroom to check, I get disappointed and paranoid even more that it does NOT come.

Once again, I am 18, I am completely not ready for a child and I know i should have thought out my plans better... I trust him when he says he did not ejaculate. but I'm very hesitant with the risk of pre-cum being the cause..

Do you think my period is being irregular because I am still quite young and the fact that I am incredibly stressed and paranoid? Also, I bought a pregnancy test just in case, when is the best time to take the test for it be 99.9 percent accurate?

Hi Anon,

Thanks for posting your question. You continually stress that you are not ready to have a child at your age, but in the last month you have had unprotected sex three times. Regardless of whether your boyfriend ejaculated or not, pre-ejaculation can also get you pregnant and is completely involuntary so your boyfriend has no control over it.

You can test for pregnancy once your period is already late-- wait for your period to arrive if it is negative and please do not engage in unprotected sex if you are not ready for a baby.

Good Luck,

Rosa
