Is it ok to wash my grade of hair everyday? I have natural curly hair that I wash everyday or every other day. Every time i wash it(mainly to wash out the product that i used that day because it makes my hair feel dry & i dont wanna go to sleep with holding spray & hair gel on my hair.) i soak it in heavy moisturizing conditioner afterwards that's made for deep conditioning(sometimes il leave it in my hair over night under a shower cap to repair split ends & soften my hair. So my question is, even though i don't use heat on my hair & i deep condition it at least 3x a week, am i damaging it by washing it almost everyday?

You are very welcome, I'm glad that cowashing is working for you! Our hair loves moisture so water and a good conditioner are the best treatments.

THANX U GUYS!! I already see a diff, because i took Jkoi's advice and started doing the cowash. My hair isnt as dry & disobedient as it was starting to be with washing everyday. I think I may be a little addicted to going to bed with clean hair so I dont think I could ever NOT atleast rinse it. Thanx again so much for the helpful healthy alternative!

You can try cowashing which is washing with a conditioner only, which really does clean your hair. Do you use sulfate-free shampoos? They are less damaging and stripping than the ones that contain this detergent. I use Organix Pommegranate and Green Tea and I saw a big difference, no breakage or dry scalp. I do cowashing twice a week and shampoo once. Hope this helps.

if you use shampoos everyday yes it is damaging as it removes the natural protection of your hair. try rinsing it every day with just water, and use shampoo less frequently. personally, i believe putting all those products on your hair just dries it out more and it would do better without the whole mess but it's just an opinion!
