A double mastectomy requires a moderate amount of time lying on an operating room table in one position, not moving and in a supine position. The possibility of unusual pressure on the sciatic nerve for an extended period is likely. Also, some spinal stenosis may have been aggravated by the length of time she was immobile. Should be nothing related to the surgical procedure on the breasts however. Some Ibuprophen for the sciatic inflamation and some mild spinal stretches should help. Also an ice pack applied to the lower back/ hip area should help.

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
I will venture to say that the burning in the leg is unrelated to the mastectomy.
The most common causes of these kinds of sensations are: bad circulation and/or a pinched nerve.
Medication could also be a possible cause.
If the burning and pain persists more than a few days then she needs to see her doctor who can refer you to a specialist if necessary.
