Hi Anon

Thanks for your question!

Like any stroke, a spinal stroke can cause paralysis and again, like any stroke - time is of the essence! The faster a person gets treatment, the better their chances for recovery.

Paralysis is permanent for some, unfortunately. But for many others, it is temporary and with good health care and physical therapy, many walk again and walk very well.

Rest and recovery will be needed first and then physical therapy will begin slowly and can last many months.  Special therapists in stroke recovery will work with each individual according to their needs and how the stroke affected them.

Has this helped, Anon?
