Alternative treatment of bladder cancer

My mom is 80 years old, she had a tumor removed from her bladder. She is to fragile to get chemo or radiotherapy or have the 8 or 10long-hours surgery to reconstruct her bladder. She has decided not to get any treatment, but rather let the disease take its normal course, which we agree, but would like her to be strong enough so she does not suffer too much. She also has diabetes and hypertension.

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. I can appreciate your mother's decision and your family's respect of her choice.

You might consider hospice care. Speak with her oncologist or primary care physician about ways to keep her comfortable, if she is a candidate for analgesics such as morphine.

Regards,
Maryann
