My 93 yr old mother is in a nursing home..she had a masectomy 3 yrs ago and is not suffering from alzheimer. She will not eat solid food, only chocolate milk or ensure and has frequent periods of "acting out" where she screams, curses, and hits the caregivers. I live 70 miles away and visit her at least once a week, but she wants to come to stay with me. She needs 24 hr skilled care and I do not have the facilities or the money to pay someone to help with care. She is on medicare. If I could find a medicare facility (not a nursing home) near me, would it be best to move her now? I live in Mechanicsburg PA.

It is up to your mom's doctor(s), the nursing home facility recommendations, as well as you what is best for your mom at this point.

Have you spoken with your mom's doctor(s) and /or a trusted medical personnel at the nursing home facility regarding the best place for your mom, that is closer to you, as well as covered under Medicare.

Do you need help with finding a facility?
