Okay for the past three months I have been dating this guy. I told him I had a fear of catching sexually transmitted diseases especially herpes. So he would be funny and say "yeah I have the Herp" then I asked him did he really have it and he said no n if he did he would tell me. We haven't had sexual intercourse only kissed. I had a bad post nasal drip and the next day I had a fever and now I have a sore throat. My right tonsils have been enlarged for a pretty long time even if im not sick!!!! Should I go and get tested for herpes???? or am I freakin out and could my tonsils be enlarged due to my yearly sinuses and allergies????? n what are the chances of contracting herpes simplex 2 from kissing????? Thank you a lot for your response

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Since you did not have intercourse, if he had an outbreak in the mouth area when he kissed you. It's possible to be passed on to you through kissing. Some of the symptoms is a group of blisters on a red base. You need to see your doctor, if you start to feel any of the symptoms.
