Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is a chance of pregnancy.

Since you are late for your period, you can take a home pregnancy test; they are about 99% effective at detecting any "pregnancy hormone" once you've missed a period.

Please let us know the results, either way!

If you have a negative result and your period still does not begin in a few weeks, you can call your doctor (of course, you can call your doctor before this time, too). It can be normal for women to have a late period, or even miss a period one month.

You may want to talk with your doctor about your birth control options, so that you do not have this worry and stress in the future---we all know how upsetting this time is, and we wish you the best. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
