Am I Pregnant?

I lost my virginity (used a condom) four days before my expected period about three weeks ago and I got worried so I took plan b about 32 hours after having sex and it pushed my period to be a week late. But I ended up getting my period and it was normal. I'm starting to feel hungry all the time no matter how much I eat and I've been feeling gassy too. Could I be pregnant?

Hi Anon1010,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

If you had "protected" sex by using a condom, then you should not be pregnant. Additionally, you took an emergency contraceptive within 72 hours as directed and therefore preventing pregnancy as well. Then you got your period, which was normal. The likelihood of you being pregnant is slim to none. But you can always check to be sure by taking a home pregnancy test.

In the future, if you use a condom that is sufficient. Please understand, the use of the emergency contraceptive is not something you should use as regular birth control.

Be well,
~Gillette
