Am I pregnant?

Hi I was about one week late on my period and am never late. I've had pregnancy symptoms such as frequent urination, lower back pain and trouble sleeping and fatigue. Foods that were never spicy before are really spicy now. Over the last few weeks I've had pink spotting on and off and yesterday I had dark red(brick color) bleeding. It's generally only when I wipe and only a spot or two on the pad. Generally my period gets heavier on day two. Today is still the same brick red with brown and only when I wipe. I am on birth control but missed the last two pills and it was my first month on it. I had sex during the last two active pills that I missed. I felt like I had ovulation symptoms about four days later. I also took two FRER test which came back negative. What's the possibility of pregnancy?

Hi I just wanted to give an update. I stopped bleeding on Saturday so for a total of three days I "bleed" it was not enough to fill even one panty liner the entire time. I took a blood test on Monday and the results came back negatitive. I was still having symptoms so on Thursday I took another HPT, also negatitive. Im still struggling with fatigue and back pain. I still have nausea so I am unsure at this point what is going on.

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for seeking our thoughts on your chance of being pregnant.

I think, despite two negative home pregnancy test results, that your chance is good based on symptoms and having intercourse on the days you missed an active pill.

I suggest you contact your gynecologist, who may order a blood pregnancy test, which is more accurate.

Please keep us updated.
Regards,
Maryann
