My previous period began on 13/07/2010 and ended on 17/07/2010 and my cycle is always every 28-30 days, but now I have late 6 or 7 days for my next period of August 2010 (36 days afte rmy last period). My breast is swallen, I have period pains but no blood. I dont have any other symptoms. We had unprotected sex on 23/07, and also on 26/07 with ejaculation inside me, also we had regular sex the days after that without ejaculation inside me. I am not under streess and I didnt put any extra weight and I suppose this cannot be the factor of delaying. Should I make a test? or is too soon? do you believe that I am pregnant?

Hi I just wanted to ask a couple of questions. I ceased taking the pill last month. My period began as expected on the 31st of July after I took my last pill and lasted for around 4 days. On the 18th of August I had unprotected sex with my partner and am presuming that I was ovulating at the time as I had copious amounts of vaginal secretions on both the 18th and 19th. I never usually have such large amounts of cervical fluid and both myself and my partner noticed the change. My cycle has generally been 28-29 days when I wasn't taking the pill. I am currently 2 days late for my period and I know there is a possibility that I may be pregnant.

On the 17th of August I had breast augmentation surgery so naturally my breasts and nipples are very tender so I'm not able to go by that as an indication of possible pregnancy.

I have been having some mild cramping in my lower abdomen and I've also been experiencing a lot of grumbling in my lower bowels. As much as I seem to be having signs of my period coming, it still hasn't appeared. I've even gone so far as to insert a tampon and leave it for a while to see if there is any trace of blood on it when I remove it a little while later.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on all of this.

Hi again, I made the pregnancy test and came out positive, which is 100% accurate most of the times. I will make tomorrow a blood test to make sure 1000000% and get some advice from doctors because this is my first child. :) We are both excited despite the fact that we didn't program it. Thanks Cary Cook BSN RN for your time and answering to me.

Any time you have unprotected sex, you risk pregnancy. If you read the many, many threads on this here on the site, you will see we get this question a lot: https://www.empowher.com/condition/pregnancy.

Generally speaking, You can take a home pregnancy test one week after your missed period. Read the instructions on the test you buy to be sure of the timing. Good luck.
