Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to our community with your question.

A gay man can reduce his risk of getting HIV by using a (new) condom correctly every time he engages in anal sex. Latex condoms are highly effective at preventing transmission of HIV and some other sexually transmitted diseases. “Natural” or lambskin condoms do not provide sufficient protection against HIV infection.

Regards,
Maryann
