Another "Pregnant? or just Stress-induced missed period?" question

The start of my most recent period was on Feb 26 - projected ovulation date being March 14, projected next period March 28 (via MyMonthlyCycles, where I have been keeping track of my period for 1 year). Average cycle - 30 days.

We had protected intercourse on March 3 and 24. The condom didn't break; slipped down maybe an inch but we pushed it right back up.

Now my period is 3 or 4 days late (depending if you count the 28th), with no usual signs of cramping etc that I normally get. Took two HPT's and both came out negative. Discharge looks normal, no tenderness of breasts or anything. I have had a little bit of an upset stomach but I think I may just be getting sick - I am under quite a bit of stress.

I know it's unlikely that I am pregnant, but I am paranoid since I can't afford to have a child right now. I have heard that stress really can throw off a regular period (I have been regular for 8 years now), but I have a hard time believing it since I am so paranoid... help? I don't know what's wrong with me!

Have a GYNO appt coming up in a month, but I'm the type of person who likes to know without going to the doc! It sure would be nice if my period would come!

Hi there!
So I'm getting so stressed out. My boyfriend and I had sex October 1st. He went in twice without a condom for a few seconds each time but immediately got out and we resumed with a condom on. He didn't finish off inside me, but I do know that pre ejaculation can contain sperm. I last got my period on September 7 of last month. And the month before that I am not too certain but definitely around early month too. I am stressing out because I still haven't gotten it. I thought I felt myself ovulate weeks prior to having sex (I usually feel it two weeks before my period...I cramp a little and get heavier discharge) but then now still nothing. I tried hookah for the first time this past Saturday and since I never tried anything like smoking or drugs of any sort, it was something I wasn't used to and it did bother my stomach for a bit. I don't know if I'm pregnant, if it's stress-induced, if it maybe has to do with smoking hookah for the first time and my body not being used to it, or all? I am stressing out and really scared.
Thanks for any advice!

Hi,
It is possible that a higher level of stress associated with starting college may be the reason that you have missed your period in August. What kind of food are you eating now that you are in college? A change in diet, such as an increase in fatty foods, can put on the extra pounds and cause gas. Breast soreness may be a sign that you will be getting your period soon. If you do not get your period this month, visit your doctor or the health center on campus( if there is one).

Hey I have read all these posts and I hope that you can help. On July 6 this guy and I were in the pool(naked) and our parts touched but he didn't go inside me. I'm not sure if he ejaculated but I don't think he did. My period came as usual on the 28 of July but then when it was supposed to come in august, it didn't. I just started college and have been worrying about this because recently(within the past week) my boobs have been sore. I also have a fat stomach and my stomach seems bubbly on the inside. Sometimes when I stand I get vertigo. In august I took some pregnancy test and they came up negative, but I'm still worried. Any help?

It was more than spotting but just really light bleeding, normally she has to wear a tampon and pad, but this has just been enough to cover about half her tampon (TMI, sorry). Yes the test was done 6 days after her period was due and we followed the instructions right. Then tonight (the 8th, period was due the 1st) it stopped altogether. So that was just 2 days of a period like thing?? any ideas because she's never experienced anything like this before. She has still been stressed, but not so much worrying about pregnancy anymore at least.

Well one more thing to add, when she started her period, It was very light spotting, which it is normally pretty heavy. It was brown and pinkish, not the normal blood color. I was afraid this could be extremely late implantation bleeding, or even a sign of miscarriage. She hasn't experienced any cramps (normally she has real bad cramps on her period), her breasts have not been sensitive, but she has experienced some nausea. We were both still a little worried so today we did a first response test about 10 minutes ago and it came out negative without any sign of a second line. If it was a miscarriage would it be positive or would there be any way to tell that it was? The last time we had sex was the 23rd, so that's around 15dpo, so is there anyway the test could be a false negative? if it isn't pregnancy or anything what could cause this problem? she has been stressed out bad with this whole thing.

Anonymous,
Implantation bleeding happens 6-10 days after conception and is uncommon (only around 30% of pregnant women face implantation bleeding). And it is usually very few spots when some women cannot even notice it maybe until they wipe. Did she experience a spot or two OR her spotting was actually light bleeding that could still fill at least a pad. Most probably a woman won't even need to use a pad for implantation bleeding.
May be because of huge stress, she experienced a light period. By the way it happened to me too. One day I was so stressed about being pregnant and as a result my period came lighter and shorter than usual. So, may be we don't need to worry.
The pregnancy Test if done properly (instructions being followed) is probably 99% accurate at this point since it passed 15 days after sex and she even reached the date her period is due right?
She can take another one, one or two weeks later just for the 100% Confirmation if you are still worried about implantation.
Miscarriage is normally very heavy bleeding, heavier that a period so she didn't face a miscarriage.

Best Wishes
