anxiety--- shortness of breath or blood clot?

I have General Anxiety Disorder and just got off a hectic weekend. Today I have some trouble with getting full breaths and not severe but some pressure on my chest, is that normal for anxiety? I took a flight yesterday but was only for an hour. I am only 20 years old but take birth control so am concerned about blood clots. I haven't had leg pains for a few weeks but have the occasional leg cramp etc. Please let me know if I should be concerned!

Hi Anon.

Not being able to take a full breathe can be a symptom of anxiety. If you have any chest pain, please see your doctor or go to the ER.

As far as your leg, usually blood clots can occur when you have been on VERY long flights, you will also feel warmth to the area and may see some redness as well. Leg cramps are often associated with lack of potassium, so if you can get some bananas or other potassium supplements in, please do so. If your leg cramps persist, schedule an appointment with your doctor.

All the best,

Rosa
