Tinnitus or ringing in the ear is not a condition but rather a symptom of an underlying condition. That underlying condition must be identified before you can lessen or eliminate the symptom.
In most cases, age related hearing loss, exposure to loud noise, earwax blockage, Stiffening of otosclerosis, which is stiffening of the bones in the middle ear, may affect your hearing and cause tinnitus.
