Q:

Any pregnancy possibility?

My girlfriend and I were dry humping. She is on the mini pill but took the first pill of her second pack more than 3 hours late the day we were dry humping. I was wearing compression shorts, basketball shorts, and she was wearing kind of thin leggings. I've spoken with an OB GYN nurse and she said it's definitely impossible, other pregnancy educators say it's next to impossible or basically impossible, and no one has ever seem to have heard of a case where it's actually happened before despite saying its "possible". Is sperm able to travel clothes at all in general? Is sperm able to travel through these clothes to get a girl pregnant? Is there even the slightest chance that she could get pregnant or is it a definite impossibility? If likely, how much so? She has regular periods and this took place day 6 of her cycle, with slight discharge of blood still ending her period.

Guide

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
I'd love to give you accurate information on the matter. First of all, your girlfriend in on birth control. Taking the pill late will not cause ovulation. She must miss two weeks or more of the pill in order for ovulation to occur. And as you probably know, girls can only become pregnant when ovulating.
So, that is the first reason she cannot become pregnant. Secondly, sperm cannot travel through clothing no matter how thin. Plus, if you did not ejaculate there was no sperm present anyway.
Third, dry humping in general with or without clothes cannot cause pregnancy. Sperm must be ejaculated into the vagina, while the girl in ovulating in order for pregnancy to occur.
With all that said, I hope you now understand why pregnancy is impossible in this situation. If you are concerned about pregnancy even without having intercourse, perhaps you are not ready for sexual activity. Save yourself stress in the future by trusting your birth control and avoid activities that make you nervous afterward.
