Bf & I just fooled around. No sex or penetration but I heard sometimes precm could drip. Not sure if any was present but I took a first response hpt 9wks after & it was negative. Is that accurate? Do I retest at 12wks? I'm on lolo bc, no longer get a period and never missed a dose.

Hello, Anon.

Thank you for your message.

Home pregnancy tests can be taken 14-21 days after sex and are about 97% accurate if taken correctly.

Pre-ejaculate fluid itself does not contain sperm. If a male has had a recent ejaculation, sperm can remain in the urethra (the tube that both semen and urine pass through). Once he urinates, sperm is flushed out.

Hi Helena

So does that mean the hpt that was taken 9wks after, is considered accurate?

Hi,

It's accurate 14-21 days after sex. So, 9 weeks is well past that and would be accurate.
