I'm on my second month of birth control pills.the first mOnth, I had lots of withdrawal bleeding. This month I'm getting the fluid patterns I got before. I wouldve ovulate today but I shouldn't since I'm on the pill. For some reason I'm getting my vulsting stretchy clear discharge though? Do your discharge patterns remain the same when you go on the pill or is the pill not working in my body????

Hi,
Most birth control pills contain two hormones, estrogen and progesterone. These hormones are synthetic versions of naturally occurring female hormones. They work primarily by preventing ovulation and help prevent pregnancy by thinning the lining of the uterus and thickening the mucus on the cervix.
All menstruating women have a cyclical vaginal discharge. Birth control pill users may notice subtle changes, but most women won't notice any changes.
I don't think you need to worry. Continue to take your pill at the same time of day, each day and you will be protected from an unplanned pregnancy.

I'm taking it so faithfully & I'm being so careful. I even got six new packs of pills because my old ones had been left in a powerless house for three days. My partner has been using condoms, too. Four days ago, the condom did break though.. I'm worried. Sperm can live five days in the body, I really hope I'm not ovulating. I only took one pill over two weeks ago 50 minutes late. That's the only mistake I've made. Has anyone been on the pill & had their usual not-on-birth-control discharge habits with it still being successful?
