I just found out that I have tested positive on autoimmune disease. I have always had a low immune system. Somehow I have this horrible flu and I don't know what I can take or do. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for your question. Resting when you first come down with a cold or the flu helps your body direct its energy toward the immune battle.  Steamy showers moisturize your nasal passages and relax you. If you're dizzy from the flu, run a steamy shower while you sit on a chair nearby and take a sponge bath. Hot liquids relieve nasal congestion, help prevent dehydration, and soothe the uncomfortably inflamed membranes that line your nose and throat.  Also, over the counter pain relievers such as Ibuprofen can help if you have body aches.  Complications of influenza occur in some people; pneumonia is the most common complication.
