I detect a lump on right breast for about 4 months now, went for mamogram, ultrascan and done biopsy..It's not cancerous. Doctor advised to remove them, but it tends to shrink and get soften...then back to harden and lumpy again...on and off. Doctor recommend hook -wire localisation biopsy. Should i proceed or is this on and off feeling due to menses period ??

Hi Wana,

I believe your doctor wants to perform a hookwire localization biopsy for a more accurate diagnosis. Although you have had a biopsy of your lump done and it was benign, some of those lumps may not have been palpable since they tend to come and go. Ultimately, the choice is yours whether you want to have the hookwire localization biopsy done, but I believe it is in your best interest to be 100% sure that everything is benign.

Best Wishes,

Rosa
