Ok so ive been on the pill for about 3 and a half years now and last 2 months ago i decided i wanted to skip my period so i automatically started a new pack after i finished all my active pills from my old one . Ive done it plenty of times nothing ever happens No spotting no nothing. But last month i decided i wanted to skip it again so i did ! But this time i had some brown discharge . Ive been on this new pack for 2 weeks almost and it hasnt stopped . But since ive been on this pill for so many years i also experience brown spotting in my last active week . But it should have stopped by now . Im getting nervous because i have unprotected sex everytime . And ive also been forgetting to take pills lately which means sometimes i take 2 in 1 day . Ive also taken a pregnancy test and it was negative . Please help me !!

Hi victoria223,

Brown spotting is normal and it's really just old blood that you will sometimes see if you've had sex because it is blood that was pooled and became dislodged during sex. You can also spot bleed if you miss pills in between because your body is quick to think that it may be time for your period. If you have negative pregnancy tests, then you aren't pregnant- this is normal.

Wishing you the best,

Rosa
