i have been taking my birth control pills for more than two years now, correctly and on time. i was recently on my inactive period pills last week and ended my period on saturday. i was supposed to start my first week of the active pills the next day (sunday) but forgot. i realized and took the pill as soon as possible the next day on monday with mondays pills. then on tuesday of that first week i had sex with my boyfriend who didnt use a condom and ejaculated in me. i didnt have my pills on me that night so i couldnt take my tuesdays pill. i took it as soon as i could the next day on wednsday with wednsdays pill. is there a chance i could end up pregnant?

Guide

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.

First of all, when you miss a pill, it is important to still take them in order.  For example on Monday, you should have taken the Sunday pill.  On Wednesday you should have taken the tuesday pill.

Since you did not take them correctly or on time, there is a possibility of pregnancy.  At this point I suggest that you keep taking the pills from where you left off.  Depending on the type of pills you are taking it could keep your cycle relatively on time.

Then wait for your period.  If you miss your period all together then take a pregnancy test a week later.

You must allow for a few weeks time after having sex for a pregnancy test to show accurate results.
