I missed my pills two separate times maybe three but no more than that max. The two times I forgot I doubled up. I have been having a sore throat and headache but it has only been one week since this unprotected sex happened and I really don't believe that you can tell symptoms that quickly. I have not had sex in the last seven days like requested. i am just wondering if there is any way i could be pregnant. I am on Yasmin and do two 21 day cycles concurrently. Have been on birth control for about 9 years.

Guide

Hi Anonymous,
Oral contraception is effective only if taken properly, that means, every day and at the same time each day. You can become pregnant depending on when you missed a dose, for example, on the day you ovulated and had unprotected sex, and for how long, chances increase if you skip seven or more days in a row.
To test for pregnancy, you have 2 options. A blood test that can detect the pregnancy hormone hCG 7 to 12 days after conception. You could test with a home pregnancy test. While some products claim accurate results as early as the first day of a missed period, it is advisable to wait until one week after a missed period until testing.
Hope this helps!
