Q:

Bleeding twice now after sex in last 6 months

I was diagnosed with mild dysplasia and had an abnormal pap but they said most likely will clear on own....but I have had light bleeding twice after intercourse in last six months. Should I be worried? They checked biopsy and everything. So do I need to go back in? Or is my cervix irritated because of the mild dysplasia?

Guide

Hi Anon,
Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community

Since you were diagnosed with mild you should get pelvic exams every 3 to 6 months to check for and remove abnormal cells. The bleeding may or may not be caused by the dysplasia but you should at least call and discuss your symptoms with the doctor you received the initial dyplasia diagnosis from.

Receiving appropriate care early is better than in the long run, especially with your pre-existing condition.

Be well,
