Hello...this is gross and awkward. I feel like i have to have a bowel movement, but I went to the bathroom and liquid came out of my anus...it was blood. It's bright red, but very watery and has a weird smell (not like blood...I don't know how to describe it). I bent over in front of a mirror thinking maybe I had a hemorrhoid, but I didn't see anything and I pushed a little and blood came dripping out. I feel like I have to go bm really badly but it won't come out. I have no insurance. The only thing different was earlier this afternoon I had to bm really badly and had to hold it for about 30 minutes before I could get to a restroom. Help! I'm extremely freaked out!

So, I still haven't been able to have a BM...I got a feeling like a sudden urge to go to the restroom and there was a medium red, clot. I got a glove and it was thick and sticky...like a melted gummy candy consistency with a black ball inside. Isn't this a possible sign of cancer?

It sounds like a blood clot, and you will need to see a doctor to determine what is causing this. Hope you go soon. Pat

Thank you, Pat. I am going to try and schedule an appointment with a health clinic that allows payments here in my town. I haven't had constipation or hard stools...I eat pretty healthy and have regular BMs for the most part. I did go to the restroom again and pooped mucus/blood clots...still bright red. It's a little scary to think that it may be something serious...I guess it's better to find out earlier than later.

Hi anastasia and welcome to EmpowHER.
Thanks for your question, and there's no reason to be embarrassed. Rectal bleeding is more common than you might think. It's good that you decided to seek information to help you with this situation, and I hope we can do that.
It sounds like this is new to you. Have you had any problems with constipation or hard stools?
Generally, bright red blood bright red blood indicates the bleeding is from the area around the anus. Often the cause is an anal fissure, which is a small tear in the anus, or hemmorrhoids, which are swollen blood vessels in the rectum or anus, vary in size, and can occur either inside or outside the anus.
Rectal bleeding can also be an indication of a more serious condition, including anal cancer and colon cancer.
It's important that you not try to guess at what this is, and that you seek medical attention. Since you don't have insurance you may want to look at help from an urgent care center. Don't worry about embarrassment, they see this type of health concern all the time and they are there to help you.
I hope you will seek care as soon as possible so that you can feel better and put your mind at ease. Will you let us know what you do and what you find out?
Best regards,
Pat
