Bowel problems

I'm 21 years old.. For the past couple of weeks I have had weird bowel problems. When I have to to poop, it feels like I have needles in me when the poop is "pinching off". And then I will look in the toilet and I will see that my poop is not whole, it's cut off into like 2 inch long segments. Not sure what this could be?

Hi roxygirl30,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Painful intestinal cramps and pain while defecating are abnormal and can be an indication of various disorders affecting the large bowel, rectum or anus. Inflammation of the lower part of the gut and pelvic organs may also contribute to pain during defecation.  You need to see your doctor and he might suggest having imaging test done to know the cause of your symptoms.

Best,

Daisy
