Hello. My name is Tatiana. I am 21 years of age. Since my early teens I have developed some stomach(or bowels) problems. Stomach cramps, constant diarrhoea(about 4-5 years),bloating, gas, upset stomach, anaemia(since I was a child) and most recently I discovered blood in my stool. My doctor have taken several test and couldn't find what is wrong with me. Now I am waiting my turn to going to the hospital for colonoscopy.Doctors never took me seriously before, because i was very young. I can't eat anything, because I need to go to the toilet straight away with upset stomach and I am not gaining any weight. I am roughly about 45-50 kg of weight. Waiting is a torture. Could you please tell me what it could be and how serious ? I would be very grateful to hear from you.
I am looking forward to hear from you,
Tatiana.

Hello Tatiana,

I would like to welcome you to the EmpowHER community and thank you for reaching out to us with your health concern.

A colonoscopy and evaluation by a gastroenterologist will ensure a proper diagnosis. Based on your symptoms, this sounds like ulcerative colitis.

Tatiana, you can read up on this condition by visiting this website's "Ulcerative Colitis' resource page.
