I know that I'm supposed to wait 7 days to have maximum protection and all that but in the heat of the moment he just did it. He came inside me because we were both like why not, it's my 6th day and almost the 7th day so we both felt as though I wouldn't get pregnant and the birth control pills were already in effect. But now that I think about it, can I actually get pregnant since I didn't wait an entire week and only took it for 6 days? I've taken all my pills around the same time which is about 10:20-10:30 ish and never missed a pill. I took my birth control at 10am and we had sex at about 5 or 6pm so I at least already had today's pills absorbed into my body already but an hour after sex, I threw up because I ate something bad I'm assuming. I'm debating on taking plan b in the morning, should I risk it and not take it and just continue taking my birth control on time or go to the nearest drugstore or planned parenthood and but a plan b emergency contraceptive?

Hi, Anon.

Thanks for reaching out to us.

If it's after 72 hrs since sex, there is nothing you can do but continue taking your pills and wait for your period. Emergency contraception needs to be taken within that 72 hour period. I'd say your risk is low, but contact your doctor or planned parenthood to ease your mind.
