okay so im 19 years old i was seeing someone and we were sexually active now on jan 30th we had sex and the condom was left in me all night and i had no idea because i was intoxicated and the next morning we went to go do it again and he pulled it out of me, i didnt think anything of it until today which is feb 9th, my period is due on feb 15th since last month my period came jan 15th it usually comes around the same day each month. i had extreme lower back pains on feb 4th that lasted all day until i took some tylenol arthritis pills and it stopped hurting the next day. at some points it still bugs me but not as much. Ive woken up with headaches the past week a few times but if i take some advil they go away. i havent been eating a lot because everytime i do i feel like my stomache is gunna explode no matter how much i eat could be very little portion it feels extremely full. so today feb 9th all day ive been getting a white mucus discharge that later turned lightish to mediumish brown still muscus. im gunna wait it out but wanted to know any thoughts on this.

Hi Jane,
It sounds like you are worried about possible pregnancy, and I wish we could give you a concrete answer...but there isn't one. You would need to wait until your next expected period (next week) before taking a home pregnancy test to know if you are pregnant (or, your period will hopefully begin sometime between the 22nd-25th, as you expect).

The brown discharge you experienced sounds normal, as many times women will experience a little light spotting after sex (literally a few spots of blood on your underwear), and since you had unprotected sex, you can experience more discharge for 3-5 days following sex from semen leaking out of your vagina, coupled with a little discharge from your vagina. This is normal.

She found out she was pregnant in April, according to her history on this site.

hii diane, im here to keep an update ! .. so on feb 17th i went and did a urine test and it said negative .. but i just have this weird intuition that it was false ... i keep getting headaches, mild cramps, my breast arent sore but my nipples are and i can tell they are changing weirdly.. staying hard, and they arent very dark but a bit darker from what they use to be.. im getting acne on my face, chest and back, my face sometimes feels flush, and hot like i have a fever but the rest of my body will be really cold. have any suggestions?

The brown color in itself is not anything to worry about. Brown blood is just blood that is a little older than red blood. It does happen sometimes and it's not a cause for alarm all by itself. I would guess that by the next time you have your period, it will be completely back to normal.

Hi, Ellie,

Let me be sure I have the order of things right.

Jan 15 - last period
Jan 30 - sex, condom stayed in
Around Feb 4 - lower back pain
Today - mucus discharge with some brown in it
Feb 15 - period due

Is that right?

There is a chance that you could be pregnant, because the day you had sex when the condom stayed in was right around the time you probably would have been ovulating. We tend to ovulate about two weeks before our next period comes.

However, you'll have to wait a little longer to find out for sure. On its own, a clear or whitish discharge doesn't really mean anything. If it turns lightish to mediumish brown it could be implantation bleeding -- I'm assuming this is sort of like spotting? -- but it also could be just something normal that has to do with your hormones this month.

I wouldn't think the back pain on the 4th has anything to do with any of this, unless it's regularly something that happens for you around the middle of your cycle?

Unfortunately, to be sure of whether you are pregnant, you'll have to wait until your period is due and, if it doesn't come, take a HPT to see what it says. Most of them are very accurate now within one day of a missed period.

Will you do that and come back and let us know?
