I my period was two days late and stayed on for only 1 1/2 days. I had light brown spotting for three days. I took two pregnancy the both said negative but with my son it did not get a positive reading until I was 13 weeks along. I have been stressed but that only makes my period late never had brown spotting without my period coming back on, I dont feeling like going to the doctors to have blood taking since I have to go to the doctors in two weeks. What is a better and faster way to tell if I am with child or not. And I also been having bloating and sleeping all day.

Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community. Light brown spotting typically is left over blood and not an actual new period. Sometimes women can be experiencing implantation bleeding and confuse it with brown spotting. If there is a lot of spotting, it is most likely not implantation bleeding.

Here is some info on implantation bleeding signs for the EmpowHER community. https://www.empowher.com/pregnancy/content/pregnancy-words-implantation-bleeding-what-it-and-it-normal

When I was pregnant with both my kids, my pregnancy tests came up negative until I bought the EPT ones which still gave me a super, super faint pink line. You can try another brand of test or just wait a few more days. There's no other way to know unless the doctor does a pelvic exam or draws blood.

I knew I was pregnant with my second child when I was extremely exhausted. The sleeping all day is definitely an early pregnancy symptom.

Keep me posted...try a different brand and not a generic.

Best,

Kristin
