Bulging tummy!

Hi,

I've been experiencing a strange problem with my belly recently. Maybe I've had too much food and sweets during the holidays, but I've never had problems with my belly. I thought that I've been eating too much but in the last 3-4 days I've noticed that it is not becoming flat as it has always been; also, it doesn't seem to be fat but it is hard and I don't have pain! Now for 2 days in a row I've been eating only vegetables and fruits (to not feel bloated), but again when I wake in the morning it is bulged. I've never had weight problems, but I always added 2-3 kilos during the winter and it goes through all my body by barely being noticed and my belly was always perfect flat.

I can't be pregnant neither because I've had normal periods 2 weeks before and they were a full week as usually.
Maybe you need to know just for the sake of the information, my height is 5'10.5'' and the weight always is somewhere between 140 and 145 lbs.
The only thing I have my doubts on is that toxins may have been accumulated because I've been having constipation and hemorrhoid problems since August 2011...although I have bowel movements everyday I can rarely go out all the way!
I would really appreciate your opinion on this matter, as I'm very concerned and completely unfamiliar with the condition. Should I visit the doctor or just wait for some days maybe it will flatten itself?!

Thank you,
Arbnora

Hi Abnora,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. Constipation will certainly will give you the bloated feeling and will also cause your stomach to bloat. If you have that feeling as if your "not getting everything out", you may not be.

You can certainly change this by eating more multi-grains in your diet which will help "getting everything out", but if this is an ongoing thing, you may want to check with your physician. For more information on constipation, please click here https://www.empowher.com/condition/constipation.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Missie
