Achiever2012,
Eating "a lot" of anything is typically not the ideal way to achieve weight loss goals, or even a healthy lifestyle.
What causes weight gain is consuming more calories than you expend on a consistent basis. One orange (depending on size and variety) yields about 40-90 calories, and it is recommended that you consume 4-5 servings of a variety of fruits and vegetables on a daily basis, along with the other food categories (vegetables, protein, fats and carbohydrates).
If you are consuming "too many" oranges, then still adding other food from the other categories, you could be consuming too many calories on a daily basis.
It is recommended that you consume 4-5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Eating "too many" oranges (or other citrus) could have negative health effects, so be sure to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables.
