Q:

Can having late inside you affect the pill?

I am on birth control pills-have been for two month. My period came today, there were two times today were I bled clotty red blood, it was quite heavy but on the second time I noticed a piece of condom was in the blood and it was cream colored (the condoms we use are clear though.) I also had lighter bleeding about 3 three hours ago. I'm not bleeding anymore and am wondering if I had a one day period? I'm sure it wasn't implantation bleeding though cause it was heavy. I'm just confused, the last time I had sex was two to three weeks ago. I've been stressed out a lot recently. I doubt I'm pregnant but is there a chance the latex could've been affecting the work the pill does does down there? (sorry for the details if it disgusts you)

Hi Jj_101_Dd,

Welcome back to EmpowHER.   Some of the symptoms of a vaginal infection are:

  • irritation in the vagina and at that entrance to the vagina (vulva)
  • A burning sensation, especially during intercourse or while urinating
  • Redness and swelling of the vulva
  • Vaginal pain and soreness
  • Thick, white, odor-free vaginal discharge with a cottage cheese appearance

You need to see a doctor, so he examined you.
