I missed taking my birth control Tues, Weds, Thurs. Friday I realized and took all three and continued to take my Friday at normal time. Now its Sunday and Ive been cramping and bleeding for 2 days. Bleeding heavily like a period. Is this my "period" technically? should I start a new pack today or wait until the bleeding stops?

Hello Anonymous,

The heavier bleeding is most likely the result of missing three active pills and taking four pills at once. Please contact your gynecologist as to whether you should wait for the bleeding to stop before starting a new pack.

Please help me out because I 've been feeling really paranoid since last week.

I've been taking Gildess Fe Combination pill (21 days active, 7 inactive ) since April of this year . I had sex with my boyfriend ( ejaculated on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday morning. ) That sunday I started a new pack and the friday the same week I forgot to take the pill and didn't remember till the next day. I took two pills at the same time on that Saturday. Following the next day, I've had breakthrough bleeding for 6 days.

What are my chances of being pregnant? I feel really paranoid about this and it's been making me anxious.

Hello Anonymous,

I do not know why this happened. It is unusual. Please contact your gynecologist today.

I contacted my doctor and she said that the bleeding is normal if I miss a pill and double of the next day. She did say if I continue to be paranoid to set up an appointment to talk to her about it.

I have a question to ask. I had forgot to take my pill 3 days in a row, and on the third day me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex, and he ejaculated. Can I get pregnant from this. I have been taking my pills as normal from then, but I'm still worried incase I could be pregnant.

Hello Anonymous,

Yes, there was a risk for becoming pregnant. Birth control pills prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation. That is achieved by keeping hormone levels constant. That is why it is so important to take an active pill at the same time each day. When you miss a pill, it is advised to take that pill and the daily pill as soon as you realize you missed a dose, and to use backup protection.

I usually take 2 first pills at the end of my pack until my period arrives Wednesday. My last period started July 6th, I started taking my new pack on the 10th. Somehow I flipped it upside down and took the sugar pills for a whole week without noticing. I did have unprotected sex with my fiancé at least twice. I started the true first pills on the 17th. I have been experiencing some cramping and fatigue. I am not sure when I should take a pregnancy test? Usually I would wait for my period to tell but since I started the pack technically a week late it might make it late anyways?
