Hello, my name is Pauline and I'm a single mother of 4. After my 4th baby my ex husband and I decided to tie my tubes. That was 2 years ago in September. I have been regular with my periods. My last period was 06- 01- 16 and it lasted 2- 3 days. I have now been late about two weeks. I have been having craps since the first days of the month expecting my period to start any day. My breath feel kind of store amd my stomach feel bloated. I have been sexually active with my new boyfriend pretty regularly since my last period. I don't know if taking a home pregnancy test will give me an accurate answer due to having my tubes tide? I will make a doctor appointment on Monday anyway. Thank you in advance!

Guide

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Sometimes a small opening can occur in the tubes if it is not burned completely. However, this is very rare.
Ectopic pregnancies are known to happen after a tubal ligation and they are very dangerous. An ectopic pregnancy occurs when the egg implants in the fallopian tubes because it could not reach the uterus.
An ectopic pregnancy may not show on a pregnancy test. This is why I suggest you have an ultrasound does by a gynecologist in addition to a pregnancy test.
An irregular period can also be simply caused by hormonal imbalances that can correct themselves over time.
