I had my fallopian tubes removed due to multiple etopic pregnancies. I still have my ovaries, so can I still get pregnant?

I too am going through this exact same situation and it's got me baffled. I had both tubes removed in December 2007 due to a ruptured, tubal pregnancy at work. I have not been using birth control because I didn't see the need to do so, after being told that I can't have children anymore. Nevertheless, I recently missed my period in August of this year, and it's now September, still no period. All the while, I'm having morning sickness, tender breasts, abdomen expanding & waistline disappearing, sick after everything I eat, anytime of the day or night and last, cramping and light spotting. I'm hesitant about going to the Doctor because am afraid of the obvious. I already have 5 children, in which 3 of them are adults and the other 2 are teenagers. I'm optimistic about this because I keep hoping my period will come any day. To all the ladies that read this, nothing is too hard for God. If something is meant for you, it will come to pass....for those who want children, keep the faith, it can happen.

Hello Anonymous!! Please tell me you really got pregnant w/out fallopian tubes naturally!!!! My husband and I got pregnant on our own in 2007, it was ectopic and both tubes were removed (one carrying the pregnancy and the other mangled). We have been through 4 IVF cycles (all failed) w/out explanation from the specialists. Our insurance only paid for 4 in a life time and I was told that even if you switched insurances those 4 counted. Well we switched and I called and asked just out of curiousity and they will cover 4 more cycles. I talked to my husband about it and he said NO!!!! He doesn't want to see me go through all of the shots, hurt, surgery, and pain again. He said it is just too much. I am 31 and he is 44. I am crushed and feel so confused, but reading your post gives me hope that if God wants me pregnant, it will happen w/out assistance. Please write me back so I can get more info if you are willing to share, GOD BLESS!!!

I am so ecstatic to read this. I had both of my tubes removed back in 2006 and now my husband really wants another child. We have been praying and speaking the word of God over our lives and our bodies. Although I completely trust God, it's really refreshing to read that this indeed has happened after hearing so many others tell us that it is impossible. God is the creator of life and that's all I choose to believe! Congratulations on your son!

Did they explain how it happened. I had 2 children and when I was trying for my 3rd I had to tubal preg both resulting in removal of both tubes. As soon as I recovered from the procedures I did one cylce of IVF (my insurance paid all but $3000 Blue Cross Blue Shields PPO) and had a healthy boy. So I have three kids and every month wish for a miricle of getting pregnant, but so far no luck. However this months I am 5 days late. I have been right on time since I stopped nursing my youngest. I am wondering if it is possible. And how they explained it, because all the Docs tell me no way could I get pregnant without doing IVF again.

Wow that is a Blessing. I am so sad about having my fallopian tubes removed and I am thinking that I can't have children without the expensive IVF procedure. You have given me a new hope !
