I had taken plan b some time in february, and now I want to take birth control but I was wondering if it was ok. The thing was my second period after the plan b was a whole week late. I did research and saw that a lot of women were saying that plan b made their second period late. I want to start my birth control , but I am afraid it will confuse my cycle even more. Is it safe to go ahead and use the birth control? will it make my period more late, or will it regulate the period?

Are you under the age of 18? If you are unable to ask your doctor during your visit, try calling the office when you have some privacy.
If you are 18 or older, your doctor by law will honor patient/doctor confidentiality.

Emergency contraceptive pills like birth control pills have a large dose of hormones in them. A normal side effect of emergency contraceptive is irregular menstrual cycle. Birth control pills will regulate your menstrual cycle but it will take some time before you become regular.
If you are planning to begin taking birth control pills in April, that give you 2-3 weeks since taking the plan b. But to be on the safer side, when you talk with your doctor about starting your birth control pills let him/her know about the emergency contraceptive back in February, so they can best advise you on how to proceed.

But I really don't want to tell my doctor, since she is the same doctor for my mom. I just want to know if it is ok to take, I have my birth control (from my doctor) and plan to take it this Sunday. I keep reading online that it's ok, even to take birth control on the same day as EC. I just wanted some more reassurance.
