Can Postinor 2 work even if you take it after sex instead the next day?

I took positnor 2, 30 minutes after sex and I took the next pill the other day is it a possibility that it will work???

Hello Neleisa1,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. A drug is only as effective as promised if you take it as directed.

Postinor 2 is effective in preventing pregnancy by preventing ovulation. If you took the pill in the middle of your menstrual cycle, before ovulation happened, you have a good chance it worked. Taking the first pill so soon after intercourse increased your chance the pill worked.

The second pill must be taken exactly 12 hours after the first pill. If you took the second dose more than 12 hours later, the effectiveness of the pill would have decreased.

Neeisha1, you will know Postinor 2 worked once you have vaginal bleeding or your next monthly period, whichever comes first.
