I am a cancer survivor and have read the importance of eating lots of vegetables. I love brocolli and eat it everyday along with a variety of other vegetables. My mother-in-law told me she read where you can eat too much. I eat about 2 cups of brocolli a day and aim for 2 to 5 cups of other vegetables.

Your MIL most likely read this (or a similar) article (Fitness Magazine).
It is great that you love your veggies, and there is a limit to eating even healthy foods within moderation. The caveat that your MIL missed, however: limits on good foods depend upon if you have a predisposition towards a certain condition. For instance, if you are prone to kidney stones, broccoli is a high-oxalate foods, and eating more than 2 cups of broccoli every day exacerbate this condition.
It is recommended that you do not consume more than 1-2 cups of broccoli per day, and be sure to vary the types of fruits and vegetables you consume daily, so that you are receiving the best variety of nutrition.
Thanks for your question!
