Q:

Can you get pregnant by dry humping?

So, my girlfriend and I were having some sexy time and eventually I, with trousers on started "introducing" myself into her (she had panties on too). That was a week ago.
She was supposed to start menstruating two days ago, and so far she's only gotten cramps. She isn't irregular, but her period sometimes comes too late and sometimes too soon, by days.
I haven't discussed the probability of being pregnant due to our humping, because I don't want her to get paranoid. Also, we hadn't had sex.

Is there any possibility that somehow she was impregnated? If so, what do I do? Can I, after a week, still buy her a next day pill?
Or, do the cramps indicate that she's still having her period?
Please help! PS, sorry that I asked on a women only forum.

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. No need to apologize because we offer our help to women and men.

There was no risk of pregnancy because you were wearing trousers. The sperm in semen cannot travel through fabric.

There is not need for your girlfriend to take an emergency contraceptive. Even if you had vaginal intercourse, it is too late. An emergency contraceptive is effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.

Cramping may indicate that she will start her period very soon. No need to worry.

Regards,
Maryann

Thank you very much, Maryann!
I can rest easy now. She just went to the doctor, I'm just waiting to know what it was.
