Can you get pregnant from missing pills after unprotected sex?

I am a first day starter and missed the first pill of my pack (started a day late) I take Yaz. according to the pill pack, it says missing only one in the first week requires no back up protection. At the end of that first week (The day after the last day of withdrawal bleeding) I had unprotected sex, though my partner withdrew. On Tuesday and Wednesday (the sex was on sunday) I missed my pills, and doubled up on Thursday and Friday. What are the chances of pregancy?

I have a question. I was supposed to start a new pack of pills Sunday but i i didn't get my pack unti Monday so took Sunday & Monday's pill at the same time that i usually take my pills but i had unprotected sex that Saturday. Should i be worried ? I am on tri-spirentec by the way.

Hello Anonymous,

I see that Tri-Spirentec comes as a 28 day pack.

Were you having withdrawal bleeding on Saturday, when you had intercourse?

If so, then I think you have nothing to worry about.

Sorry - to add on to my comment below, after I took my pill at 4 am (10 hours late), I took my pill the next day at its regular time. Did I make up my dose and stay protected?

Hello Anonymous,

Making up for the missed dose should have protected you.

Question - I missed my birth control pill alarm, at 6:00 pm, had sex (used a condom but he took it off, so guessing unprotected) and took this pill late at 4:00 am (meaning I only took my pill 10 hours late). This was on the third week of my pack and I'm now on placebo pills. Will I be ok from pregnancy?

Hello Anonymous,

You will know once you have withdrawal bleeding.

I switched from the patch to a low dose pill. I started my pack the day I would have started my patch.(Thursday) I had unprotected sex around the last day of my period(tues, wed) and missed my 5th pill(Monday) on my first week of the pack.. could I be pregnant?

Hello Anonymous,

Check with your gynecologist. But, I would say if you do not have withdrawal bleeding, test for pregnancy.

Hello Anonymous,

Did you take your daily pill on time the day you had intercourse?

Taking a dose 1 1/2 hour later should not have reduced your protection enough to lead to ovulation.

However, to be safe, either call to speak with your gynecologist, or wait and if you do not have withdrawal bleeding as expected, take a home pregnancy test.
