hi, i had sex the 19th of december , i took the next choice pill four days after and witch is also three days before i start my period. I bleed for like 5 days i believe, does it mean that the pill worked or i just started my regular period? Can i still get pregnant? The next choice pill says to take no more than 3 days. Anyways , i had sex again on the first of january and took the next choice the second day and its been a month now and i have not had a period. So i usualy start my period on the 25th ,my periods can be irregular.. i been having all the pregnancy symptoms, except for vomiting..i took 4 pregnancy tests two showed possitive with a lighter line and the other two test showed negative. Can i be pregnant?

Hi There

My husband and I are using natural family planning methods - I left the country for 3 weeks and on my return everything went haywire.

The date of my last period was 1st February, so an online ovulation calculator said that my fertile period was 14th - 17th Feb ( I have a 30 day cycle.) we had unprotected sex all the way up to the 16th and then stopped having sex. Thinking we were in the clear for intercourse to resume as normal we then had sex on the 20th and he ejaculated in me. That same day when I went to the bathroom there was fertile cervical mucus. I asked the doctor about the fact that the fertile dates don't coincide with the egg white mucus. Whats the possibility of me being pregnant.

Thanks

If you have had two positive tests....please call your doctor today! A positive line, even a faint line (as Rosa said) is usually enough to indicate a pregnancy.

This was my situation just recently. Maybe it might be some help?

I did not experience the 2 "positive" test like you did. I got all negatives. But I got my period (which was has been very light compared to what it is normally) TWO WHOLE WEEKS late.

Hi Anonymous,
You normally ovulate approximaetly 14 days after you START your period. So 6 days prior to the start of your period would be unlikely although every woman is different. I hope this helps answer your question and you return to us to fill us in on how you are doing. Good luck.

Nessa,

Thanks for your post!

The Next Choice Pill, like you already stated, should be taken within 72 hours of having unprotected sex. If you took it on the fourth day, then it lost its effectiveness. However, you did get your period so it seems like you were not pregnant that first time in December. On January 1st you said you took it the following day, which is a good thing and you also mention your period being irregular so at this point only a pregnancy test could tell. It's hard to say whether you are pregnant or not because you say you had two positives and two negatives. Usually when you get a positive, it means you're pregnant--even if it is a faint line. If you want a more accurate test, you can visit your doctor for a serum pregnancy test (they will draw blood) OR you can try it one more time from home, early in the morning for best results.

Wishing you the best!
