Anon - While dermatofibroma is benign most of the time, it can also be malignant. In other words, while you did not have any findings of cancer the first time, that doesn't mean it will hold true this time, and you need to get this checked out. And, although you had surgery the first time, you may not need it this time.

Why would you want to ignore something like this? Isn't it better to take charge of your own health and get this checked out? Please make an appointment with your doctor, and let us know the outcome. We wish the best for you.

It really is your decision to make. If this is the same situation as before, then waiting to be checked will not cause any harm. If, however, you have any cancerous cells, then waiting could make a difference. In any case, there are often long waits to get appointments so you might want to go ahead and make the appointment now so you don't end up waiting 2-3 months or longer to get in. I hope all goes well for you, please let us know.

I had a cellular dermatofibroma removed today. And I have another dermatofibroma being biopsied in 2 weeks. I'd rather be safe than sorry and refuse to let this get the best of me. I'd rather have a scar from having it removed than risk having cancerous cells grow inside me. Cancer runs in my family in all various forms. I know for myself I must be proactive with my health.
