Chance of pregnancy after using a condom?

I have had sex recently and my boyfriend used a condom. We also made sure to use a good amount of water based lubricant to prevent the condom from tearing. I also check for tears. I am not on birth control, and am feeling signs of cramping and my period should be here in about a week. I have irregular periods. My bladder also seems to be getting larger but i think its from feeling a bit bloated. This happened about a month ago. What are the chances of me being pregnant? I am starting to get nervous.

I am now experiencing a thick white discharge. Does this mean that my period is coming? I have still not gotten my period and i think that my nerves are what's causing it to delay.

Hi Jessica,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. There is always a chance of pregnancy any time you have sex so there is no yes or no answer to your question. However, from your explanation, I will say that it is highly unlikely and that you are probably experiencing pre-menstrual symptoms rather than pregnancy. Remember they often mimic each other.

Since you have not missed a period yet, I would wait to see if you miss a period. If you do, wait another week and try a pregnancy test. Please keep us posted.
