am 44 years old. male.only had 1 kidney.gave the other kidney to my older sister.

Has a doctor given you any guidelines on how much zinc you should have in your system?

The current RDA (recommended daily allowance) for zinc for men ages 19 and older is 11 mg a day. Here's a link to the National Institutes of Health fact sheet on zinc and why we need it:

I think it's wonderful that you donated a kidney to your older sister. But I also realize that that means your doctor may have specific recommendations for what you take in regards to supplements and minerals. Have you talked about this with her or him? Are there any special considerations?
